About Debi

In the Lavender Fields of Provence, France
If her suitcase could talk…The Luggage Diaries contain highlights from the travel journal of freelance travel writer and photographer, Debi Lander. Whether she’s traveling by air, by land or sea, Debi gathers inspiration from the local people she meets, their culture, history, architecture and cuisine. She delves into background research, delights in listening to stories, and devours ethnic food and drink. She’s written for Islands, Fox News, AOL Travel, Business Jet Traveler and Automotive Traveler, among others
At age fifty, this mother of four traveled from hometown Jacksonville, Florida, to Athens, Greece, to compete in her first marathon—and finished. Then, she went on to complete 10 more. She’s tried drag-racing, hang gliding, hiking the rainforest in Dominica, and descending into a slippery wet cave. Ms. Lander even jumped out an airplane on a tandem skydive.
Debi is a member of the Society of American Travel Writers and the International Food, Wine and Travel Writers Association. Her food blog at ByLanderSea-food features culinary articles, restaurant reviews and recipes from her travels, as well as bite size nuggets about what’s happening in my own kitchen.
